Our honest-pricing promise
What the total includes, and what it never will
This is the whole rule. There is no appendix.
Always included in the price you see
- The nightly rate for every night of your stay, at the rate that actually applies to those dates.
- VAT, tourist tax and city fees, calculated for your dates and party size.
- The number of rooms you asked for - we never quote one room and charge for two.
Never added later
- A service fee, booking fee or 'platform fee' - our line item is there, and it reads 0.
- A currency conversion margin: we show the exchange rate we used.
- An opt-out insurance box that is ticked for you.
The one thing we cannot include is what the property charges on site for optional extras - parking, a spa entry, a cot. Those are listed on each stay page with their price, and you decide at the desk.
How we work
Six rules we do not bend
The first price is the final price
Taxes and city fees are inside every number you see, from the search card to the confirmation email. The service fee line exists, and it is always zero.
No manufactured urgency
No countdown clocks, no '9 people are looking at this', no red banners. When a room really is the last one, we say so with the actual number from the inventory.
Ranking you can audit
Results are ordered by rating, price and how complete a listing is. Nobody can buy a higher position, so we never have to label anything 'sponsored'.
Cancellation in plain sight
Every rate states its free-cancellation deadline in your own time zone, before payment - not in a policy page you have to hunt for.
Reviews from real guests only
Only people who completed a stay can review it. Scores always come with the count, and we show the criticism as prominently as the praise.
The data you gave us, and nothing else
No cross-site tracking, no selling your search history. Deleting your account deletes your data, not a copy of it.
The business model
How we actually make money
Properties pay us 12% of the room revenue on stays that go ahead. That is it. Guests pay nothing to use Stayora, and no property can pay to rank higher. Because our fee only lands when someone actually checks in, we have no reason to push a booking that will be cancelled - which is why we removed the tricks that cause it.
A note on this build
Stayora is a demonstration project. The properties, reviews and bookings are generated data, no payment is ever taken, and no email leaves the machine. Everything else - the pricing maths, the availability checks, the cancellation deadlines - works exactly as described.
