Two nights was enough
Wanted to like it more than we did. Location is the strong point - twenty-five minutes to Hawker Chan and a metro stop close by. Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs.
We asked twice about the noise and nothing came of it. Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by eight.

Comfortable, quiet, well placed
Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - we never heard the street once. We booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what we thought of the price. Sanne sorted a late checkout on the last day without us even having to push for it.

Avoid
The building is beautiful from the outside.
The photographs and the reality are not the same building. The fridge in the Standard Double Room had somebody else's food in it. The room smelled strongly of damp and the window did not open to air it out. There was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom that we reported twice and nothing was done. The heating did not work properly for the first two nights and the fix took until the third day.

Handy for Gardens by the Bay
We are fussy about where we sleep. Good toiletries in refillable bottles, and towels changed without being asked twice. We ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Orchard.
We were reminded about the nine checkout twice on the Monday, which felt unnecessary.

They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for. You get more for the money here than at the two places we priced up in Orchard.
Storage is five hangers and a shelf, so we lived out of the bags.

The Junior Suite is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out.
The keycards demagnetised twice and I had to go back down to the desk.
