Average stay in a good spot
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced - the view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing.
The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light.

Restful and central
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night; the terrace is small but nobody else seems to use it, so it became ours.
Checkout is half past ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast. The keycards demagnetised twice and I had to go back down to the desk.

Very good, minor niggles
Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it. We were reminded about the half past ten checkout twice on the Wednesday, which felt unnecessary.

Sound choice near Chatuchak Market
Fair value for Bangkok prices, particularly in high season. The dorm was fine and the showers were hot in the morning, which is the real test.
The staircase is narrow and steep, so allow a minute or two more than you think.

Does the job
Straight to it: the location is the thing. Bag storage on the last day was useful. A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing.
Roadworks on the corner from six on the Saturday, and nobody had warned us. The sofa bed in the Private Double Room is not somewhere you would want a second week.

Better than the price suggests
Long weekend, first time in Sukhumvit. Ended up on the walking tour with four people from my dorm and we were still out at midnight. There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which we discovered by accident on the first morning.
No screens on the windows, so it is a choice between the heat and the mosquitoes.
