Best breakfast of the trip
The view from the balcony is not a marketing photograph - it is genuinely that. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms. Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event.

Reliable rather than exciting
Lower East Side is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. Beach access is easy and there is a shower to rinse off on the way back. They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left.
It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there.

Lovely, if you don't mind stairs
Came for two nights, stayed four. Spot on for a first visit - you can walk out of the door and start. Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked.
Only one socket by the bed, and the switch for it is behind the headboard.

No complaints, no fireworks
The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions. The shuttle runs on the hour and drops you right at the terminal.
The city tax and the cleaning fee together came as a surprise at checkout.

Small room, great location
We ate in twice out of laziness and were glad both times - the kitchen is better than it needs to be. For New York, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties.
Nothing - we have already looked at dates for next year.
