Disappointing, sadly
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced; the location is genuinely good, which is most of why we stuck it out.
One radiator for the whole room, and in December that is not quite enough. The Standard Double Room is smaller than the photographs suggest - two open cases will not fit on the floor.

Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what November is for.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Does the job
Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening.
Checkout is ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Small room, great location
Booked late and got lucky. Ayşe on reception had me checked in inside three minutes and drew a map of the area on the spot. The bed was the surprise: firm, wide and made up with linen that actually felt like linen. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

Warm welcome in Habana Vieja
Came for two nights, stayed four. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer.
We had to be out by half past ten on the last day, and that is genuinely the worst of it.

Several things went wrong
The room was at least clean when we arrived.
Traffic on the main road carries to the front rooms until well past midnight. The carpet on the second floor is due for replacing.
