Clean and central, not much else
The house is big enough for a group and the pool is genuinely private.
Housekeeping arrives at half past six, which on a holiday morning is early.

Falls short of the description
Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so we got around easily. The rate held steady when we added a night, which we appreciated.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk. The heating is on a timer and goes off at about half past ten, which in December you feel by morning.

Genuinely poor
Honestly, very little. We were out from early until late to avoid being in the villa.
Where to start. The photographs show a refurbished room. Ours was not one of them, and the carpet was visibly worn through. Building work started at half past seven every morning and nobody mentioned it when we booked. The room we were given was not the one we booked and it took two conversations to be moved.

Right for a short stay
The house is big enough for a group and the pool is genuinely private. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin. Fair value for Barcelona prices, particularly in high season.
The shower door leaks a little onto the bathroom floor.

Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about
You get more for the money here than at the two places we priced up in Gothic Quarter.
There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Thursday night.

Exactly right
The villa is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten. The sea is genuinely a two-minute walk, not the ten minutes some places call beachfront.
