Location good, room less so
Fine, with caveats. Room was warm enough in December, which was the main worry. Somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them. The pool is a good size and always clean.
The connection slowed to nothing each evening from about nine, when the place fills up.

Reliable rather than exciting
Came for two nights, stayed four. Housekeeping twice a week kept on top of things. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. Reception were helpful when we needed a doctor's address, which we appreciated.
We were reminded about the half past ten checkout twice on the Sunday, which felt unnecessary.

Worth it for Fernhill
Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly. Housekeeping twice a week kept on top of things. Quiet, tidy pool area, and the towels are set out early.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer.

Falls well short
Our flight landed at one in the morning and the man on the desk still made us a tea. The shower at least was hot.
Housekeeping missed us entirely on the Tuesday.

Sound choice near Lake Wakatipu
Came for two nights, stayed four. The house is big enough for a group and the pool is genuinely private.
Checkout is eleven and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Passable, at a push
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming. The neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking. Housekeeping twice a week kept on top of things.
Housekeeping missed us entirely on the Saturday.
