The best night's sleep of the trip
Somebody has thought about the art on the walls, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture.
Hot water was slow to arrive on the second floor first thing.

Poor value in San Telmo
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
The window seals are not what they could be and San Telmo is not a silent neighbourhood. The carpet on the fourth floor is due for replacing.

Perfectly decent
San Telmo is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. A bell rings somewhere nearby on the hour and we stopped noticing it by the second day.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Ticked every box that mattered
Turned up late, tired and grumpy, and were looked after. Breakfast is worth getting up for: honey from the market, the coffee made to order and fruit that tasted of something. I upgraded to the Terrace Room and would do it again without thinking. Borrowed the bikes on the first morning and barely used public transport after that.
The shower takes a good minute to warm up, which adds up over five days.

Nothing I would put in this box, and I have thought about it.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. The room smelled strongly of damp and the window did not open to air it out. The bathroom door did not shut and the toilet ran all night.
