Not terrible, not memorable
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not.
The bathroom is clean but the fittings belong to a previous decade.

Lovely staff, lovely building
Cerro has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged. Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - we never heard the street once. Homemade cake at four in the afternoon, whether or not you asked for it.
Checkout at nine is early when you have an evening flight. The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Expected far more
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
The air conditioning rattled on the third night; maintenance swapped a part the next morning. Service ranged from warm to indifferent depending on who was working.

Frustrating from the start
The Twin Room is at least well laid out for the size. It is priced sensibly, and that counts for something.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now. The mattress dips in the middle, which after five nights you notice.

Better in the photos
Fine, with caveats. They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for. Easy place to stay on your own, and the area is fine to walk at night.
A bottle of water in the room costs what a bottle of wine costs on the corner. Checkout at half past nine is early when you have an evening flight.

Comfortable beds, good coffee
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night - the staff pointed me to a tiny tapas place round the corner and it became my regular.
Street parking is free after ten and impossible before it.
