Lovely for a couple of nights away, quiet and personal.
The front door is locked at eleven and you have to ask for a key.

Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
Everything on site is priced for people not counting, from the water to the laundry.

The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light.

4.2Worst stay of the trip
The building is beautiful from the outside.
The lift was out of order the whole week and there is no sign of it being fixed. The lock on the door did not engage properly, which is not something you want to discover at midnight. The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was September.

The bathroom is bigger than the one at home, with a rain shower and a bench to put things on.
Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine rather than the bar downstairs, which is a shame.

The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot.
Checkout is nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.
