Slept like a stone
There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which we discovered by accident on the first morning. Christmas markets two streets away and the smell of them drifting up to the window.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk. The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Easy stay, no dramas
We arrived hours early and they took the suitcases without a fuss, then messaged when the room was ready. Ola sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation.
Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about eight.

Practical rather than charming
The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run. Location is the strong point - five minutes to Nyhavn and a metro stop close by.
The car park is a three-minute walk and costs more per night than I expected.

Faultless from start to finish
Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur. Two nights in and we were sleeping through until eight, which never happens for us. I uploaded a large file from the room in minutes and nobody at the other end noticed I was away.

Charming and spotless
Walking back from The Little Mermaid after dinner took fifteen minutes and never once felt like a trek. Paulo sat with me over a map on the first evening and half my trip came out of that conversation. No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten.

Perfectly decent
Breakfast is an extra, and worth it for fresh figs and yoghurt alone. My flight landed at one in the morning and the man on the desk still made me a tea.
