6.3Passable, at a push
De Pijp is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. There is a coffee machine in the room, which saved us a few euros a day. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat.
There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Monday night. The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

6.6One night too many
Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat. The rate held steady when I added a night, which I appreciated.
three floors and no lift - the flat is lovely once you get up there with my rucksack. I asked twice about the noise and nothing came of it.

Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event. Firm mattress, which suits us, and a duvet that is not the usual thin thing.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop. The building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener.

Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking.
Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow.

8.5Lovely staff, lovely building
Not fancy, but that was never the point. The courtyard rooms hear nothing but pigeons, which is the whole point. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into De Pijp late at night. Hard to beat the position: Rijksmuseum one way, the market the other, and no need for a taxi all week.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in June, when it is bright by half past six. I was reminded about the half past ten checkout twice on the Friday, which felt unnecessary.
