9.5Ten out of ten for Queenstown Central
Third time in Queenstown and the first time we have got the hotel right. Christmas markets two streets away and the smell of them drifting up to the window. Queenstown Central turned out to be exactly the right call - everything we had pinned was walkable. The stairs creak in a way that is either charming or annoying depending on how tired you are.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.

The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
One radiator for the whole room, and in November that is not quite enough.

8.8Happy we booked it
Third time in Queenstown and the first time we have got the hotel right. The building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener. The radiator clanked at about two in the morning and then settled down, and honestly we grew fond of it.
No full-length mirror anywhere in the flat. It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with our bags in the heat.

They did refund the second night without arguing, so credit for that.
We were given a different room from the one we booked, smaller and facing the bins, with no adjustment to the price. There was mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling and the extractor did not work.

7.0Not quite worth it
Fair value for Queenstown prices, particularly in high season. Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which I prefer.
Nobody told me the restaurant was closed for the week until I turned up hungry on the Tuesday.
