Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about.
For the money we expected a little more attention to detail.

3.8Checked out early and did not look back
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
For the money we paid this was not acceptable. The bed linen was stained. We asked for it to be changed and waited until nearly ten that night. We were charged a cleaning fee that was not in the booking and had to argue to get it back. Nobody was on the desk for long stretches, so we stood in the lobby with the suitcases for twenty minutes at check-in. Nobody told us the restaurant was closed for the week until we turned up hungry on the Wednesday.

Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

8.2Simple and clean
Turned up late, tired and grumpy, and were looked after. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. The window in the bathroom looks straight onto a wall covered in jasmine.
The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower.

9.3Worth every penny and then some
No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten. A real desk with a real chair and a socket at elbow height - somebody has actually worked in a hotel room before. The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
That we booked only five nights.
