Falls short of the description
Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

Fine, and fine is enough
Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left. The radiator clanked at about two in the morning and then settled down, and honestly I grew fond of it.
Housekeeping missed me entirely on the Monday.

Easy stay, no dramas
Cooking from the market two streets away was half the pleasure of the week. The building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener. There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which we discovered by accident on the first morning.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Right for a short stay
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which we prefer.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now. There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm.

Genuinely poor
The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not.
I would have moved out on the first night if anything else had been free. I reported a broken shower on arrival and it was still broken when I left five days later. The fridge in the flat had somebody else's food in it.

Could not have gone better
Came for two nights, stayed four. The staff pointed us to a tiny tapas place round the corner and it became our regular. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
Nothing at all, and we looked.
