Sound choice near Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
Short version: yes. Ba Dinh is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Underwhelmed but not unhappy
our youngest were happy, which is most of the review. Lucía at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
The connection slowed to nothing each evening from about half past ten, when the place fills up. The carpet on the third floor is due for replacing.

We have already rebooked
Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right. Breakfast is worth getting up for: fresh figs and yoghurt, the flat whites made to order and fruit that tasted of something. They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left.

As good as Hanoi gets
Long weekend, first time in Ba Dinh. We booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what we thought of the price. Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked.

The address is the best thing about it
Wanted to like it more than we did. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Breakfast is solid rather than lavish - eggs done to order and reliable coffee. Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs.
Wifi drops in the far rooms, so I took calls in the lobby.
