Frustrating from the start
The bed itself was comfortable enough. The radiator clanked at about two in the morning and then settled down, and honestly we grew fond of it.
The city tax and the cleaning fee together came as a surprise at checkout. Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.

Easy to recommend
We are fussy about where we sleep. We arrived hours early and they took our bags without a fuss, then messaged when the room was ready. Our flight landed at one in the morning and the man on the desk still made us a tea. Wat Bo has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm.

Would look elsewhere next time
Wat Bo is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far - the flat is well organised and everything has somewhere to go. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat.
The hot water failed on the third morning and was still off when I left.

Book it and stop looking
Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat. A real desk with a real chair and a socket at elbow height - somebody has actually worked in a hotel room before.

Good sleep, good breakfast
Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer.

Fine if you're out all day
Short version: yes. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. They let us sit in the courtyard with our own wine on the last night.
It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there. Street noise at the front until the bars close - ask for a room over the courtyard.
