The best night's sleep of the trip
The Standard Double Room is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. There is a lift, which in a building this old is a small miracle. You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being.

Sound choice near Koutoubia Mosque
Three rooms on the same floor, which saved a lot of shouting up stairwells. Connection was good enough to work from for a morning.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after two nights you notice.

A stay of two halves
A cat lives in the courtyard and considers the chairs to be hers. Grace at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
Cleanliness was not what it should be - we found the previous guest's earring under the bed.

Never again
One of the cleaners was lovely and clearly working with nothing.
The photographs show a refurbished room. Ours was not one of them, and the carpet was visibly worn through. The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was August. The kitchen was missing most of what you would need to cook, despite the listing.

Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.

The lift takes one suitcase and a hopeful expression, so there is a queue at ten in the morning.
