Passable, at a push
Some of this worked, some of it did not - good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
The carpet on the fourth floor is due for replacing.

Reliable rather than exciting
Short version: yes. Sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy.
For the money we expected a little more attention to detail.

Not fit to be let
Nothing I would put in this box, and I have thought about it.
We were charged a cleaning fee that was not in the booking and had to argue to get it back. The fridge in the Bed in 6-bed female dorm had somebody else's food in it. The heating did not work properly for the first four nights and the fix took until the third day.

Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it.
Housekeeping missed me entirely on the Saturday.

Not quite worth it
The dorm was fine and the showers were hot in the morning, which is the real test. There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on my map.
Nobody was on the desk for about fifteen minutes when I arrived on the Thursday.

Fine for a couple of nights
Booked late and got lucky. Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
The sofa bed in the Bed in 4-bed dorm with bathroom is not somewhere you would want a second week. Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.
