Good spot, tired rooms
Some of this worked, some of it did not. San Blas is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything. Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower.

Within two streets there is a rooftop bar and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply.

As good as Cusco gets
We upgraded to the Bed in 4-bed dorm with bathroom and would do it again without thinking. We booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what we thought of the price. The stairs creak in a way that is either charming or annoying depending on how tired you are.
Nothing - we have already looked at dates for next year.

Paid for a hotel, got a building site
Samir on the desk was kind about it, which is more than the place deserves.
The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was March. The bed linen was stained. We asked for it to be changed and waited until nearly half past nine that night. There was mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling and the extractor did not work. The room we were given was not the one we booked and it took four conversations to be moved.

A stay of two halves
Sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
Roadworks on the corner from six on the Tuesday, and nobody had warned us.

Restful and central
Within two streets there is a tiny tapas place and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply. Hard to beat the position: Plaza de Armas one way, the market the other, and no need for a taxi all week. Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three.
Nobody was on the desk for about twenty-five minutes when we arrived on the Thursday.
