Does the important things well
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night. Somebody on the desk at three in the morning when my flight finally landed, still cheerful.
Nothing, unless you count the taxi driver on the way out.

Does what it says
Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking - sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy.
Towels are changed only on request, which is sensible but was not explained.

Good spot, tired rooms
Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now.

Not quite worth it
Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen. We slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay. The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now.

Fine for a couple of nights
Would come back tomorrow. The dorm was fine and the showers were hot in the morning, which is the real test. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
No lift, and it is four flights with a hard turn at the top. Worth knowing before you book.
