A full-service resort with a spa, a kids club and staff who remember which sunbed you like. It scores well on private cabanas, less so on being the cheapest option in Old Town. It is a big place that somehow never feels crowded outside August.

7.1Location good, room less so
The restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect. Breakfast is an extra, and worth it for proper pastries alone. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking.
The pool bar closes at six, which felt early for the season. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

8.2Reliable rather than exciting
Booked late and got lucky. Old Town is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. We slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten. They let us sit in the courtyard with our own wine on the last night.
Footsteps from the floor above from around quarter past seven each morning. The beach loungers are chargeable and the free ones go by half past ten.

9.2Good from check-in onwards
The kids club actually did things rather than parking them in front of a screen, so we got two mornings to ourselves. Breakfast is worth getting up for: almond croissants, the flat whites made to order and fruit that tasted of something. Coffee on the balcony before breakfast, watching Old Town wake up. Worth the upgrade. The pool was never crowded, even in October, and there were always dry towels.
Checkout at half past nine is early when you have an evening flight.

9.5Small place, big heart
The bar pours a decent negroni and does not empty at nine. Half board with a children's sitting at six meant we ate dinner in peace afterwards.

7.2Fine, but not at that price
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so we got around easily. Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise.
Service in the bar was slow when it filled up after eleven.

4.1Cancelled the rest of our stay
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
Housekeeping did not come at all in four nights and we asked for towels twice. We reported a broken shower on arrival and it was still broken when we left five days later. The fridge in the Sea View Room had somebody else's food in it.
