9.1Handy for St John's Co-Cathedral
We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed.
We could not find anything to complain about.

7.2Underwhelmed but not unhappy
Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise. The rate held steady when we added a night, which we appreciated.
The lift takes one suitcase and a hopeful expression, so there is a queue at half past ten in the morning. It needs a refurbishment rather than another coat of paint, and the price has not caught up with that.

7.3Fine, but not at that price
The Deluxe King Room suited us well for a short stay. our son were happy, which is most of the review.
The sofa bed in the Deluxe King Room is not somewhere you would want a second week.

5.9Frustrating from the start
There is a lift, which I was glad of on the way up with my rucksack.
No air conditioning, and August in Valletta is warm - the fan only does so much.

Two nights, and two would have been plenty. Breakfast was fine, and the coffee was better than expected.
The hot water failed on the third morning and was still off when I left. The desk was stretched thin and it showed - five requests went unanswered.

4.1Not clean, not quiet, not cheap
The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not.
Building work started at quarter past seven every morning and nobody mentioned it when I booked. The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was July. The photographs show a refurbished room. Ours was not one of them, and the carpet was visibly worn through. The heating did not work properly for the first five nights and the fix took until the second day.
