Comfortable and well placed
The bed was the surprise: firm, wide and made up with linen that actually felt like linen. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat. Walking back from Bryggen Wharf after dinner took ten minutes and never once felt like a trek.
Checkout is half past ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Happy we booked it
Third time in Bergen and the first time we have got the hotel right. Lift straight from the street to the floor, so our bags were never a problem. The building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener.
The shower door leaks a little onto the bathroom floor.

Comfortable, quiet, well placed
I uploaded a large file from the room in minutes and nobody at the other end noticed I was away. The flat is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Handy, if a little dated
They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for; the neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello.
Aircon only runs when the balcony door is properly shut, and the catch is temperamental.

Clean and central, not much else
Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat.
One small lift for four floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once.

Location carries it
Right, so. The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
Getting a taxi to find the entrance took some explaining. Thin walls, so I knew a fair amount about my neighbours and their travel plans.
