Unhappy from check-in to check-out
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
I complained twice on site, so this is not a surprise to them. Noise from the bar downstairs went on past two every night and the walls do nothing. I reported a broken shower on arrival and it was still broken when I left two days later.

Comfortable, quiet, well placed
Long weekend, first time in St Julian's. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.

Not for us
The room was at least clean when I arrived. There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which I discovered by accident on the first morning.
For the money I expected a little more attention to detail. The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower.

Charming and spotless
the espresso in the lobby is free all day and genuinely good. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat. St Julian's turned out to be exactly the right call - everything we had pinned was walkable.
The walk back from Three Cities is all uphill, which we had not thought about.

Ask for a room at the back
Sanne sorted a late checkout on the last day without us even having to push for it. Washer and a drying rack, so we travelled home with a clean bag.
No complaints from us this time.

Better than the price suggests
The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week. I ran two client calls from the desk and the room was quiet enough that nobody asked where I was.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.
