Average stay in a good spot
Clean and tidy throughout the stay. Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming. Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
Stairs only to the fourth floor, which was fine for us but would not suit everyone.

Simple and clean
Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking. We slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway.
It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there. Footsteps from the floor above from around half past six each morning.

Strong all round
The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week. Worth every penny, and we do not say that often. Walking back from Piazza Navona after dinner took ten minutes and never once felt like a trek.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by half past six.

Everything we hoped for
Prati has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Rome rather than the hotel.

Mixed, mostly good
Fair value for Rome prices, particularly in high season. A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking. Sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy.
The staircase is narrow and steep, so allow a minute or two more than you think.
