Easy to recommend
The staff pointed us to a jazz cellar round the corner and it became our regular. Lockers are big enough for a sixty-litre pack, which almost nowhere manages.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

Better than the price suggests
Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be. Spot on for a first visit - you can walk out of the door and start.
The car park is a three-minute walk and costs more per night than we expected.

Average stay in a good spot
Not a disaster, just not what we expected; good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen.
Checkout at ten is early when you have an evening flight. You have to log in again every day, which is a small irritation that adds up over three nights.

Could not have gone better
Third time in Zanzibar and the first time I have got the hotel right. Bunks have curtains, a plug and a light each, which is all anyone actually wants. The staff pointed me to a bakery round the corner and it became my regular. Oil, salt, coffee and a corkscrew already there - whoever set this up has actually travelled.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.

Short version: yes. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow.
