Good sleep, good breakfast
In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need. Hard to beat the position: Al-Azhar Mosque one way, the market the other, and no need for a taxi all week.
Checkout at half past ten is early when you have an evening flight.

Good value for Giza
Within two streets there is a family-run trattoria and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply. Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked. Giza turned out to be exactly the right call - everything we had pinned was walkable.
Breakfast is the same every day, which by the third morning we had noticed.

Perfectly decent
our two were happy, which is most of the review. Location is the strong point - five minutes to Khan el-Khalili and a metro stop close by.
The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Worth every penny and then some
The kids club actually did things rather than parking them in front of a screen, so we got two mornings to ourselves. Within two streets there is a family-run trattoria and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply. Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what December is for. There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on our map.
Nothing at all in two nights.

Everything we hoped for
Small breakfast, but everything on the table was good - eggs done to order and a pot of proper coffee. Iron that heats up, a mirror you can knot a tie in, and enough sockets by the bed. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms.
Nothing that would stop us booking again tomorrow.

Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Giza late at night.
Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about quarter past seven.
