Stayed three nights, wanted five
Right, so. Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - we never heard the street once. The Junior Suite is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. A proper coffee machine in the room, not sachets of dust. For Dubai, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties.

Comfortable enough for three nights
There is a coffee machine in the room, which saved us a few euros a day. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it. Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise. The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions.
The radiator clanked from about eight every morning. You hear the door of the room next to you every time it shuts.

Fine for a couple of nights
Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. The Junior Suite is well organised and everything has somewhere to go. Good position overall, and we walked most places rather than paying for cabs. There is a coffee machine in the room, which saved us a few euros a day.
For the money we expected a little more attention to detail.

Small place, big heart
The airport transfer was waiting with my name up at one in the morning, which took all the stress out of arriving. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Downtown Dubai late at night.
The walk back from Dubai Creek is all uphill, which I had not thought about.

One night too many
The gym has what you need for a week away and is never busy. I left a charger behind and it arrived at home nine days later, no charge for the postage.
Service in the bar was slow when it filled up after nine. The aircon unit drips onto the balcony floor, which we mentioned on the Friday.

Asked for a refund
Milo on the desk was kind about it, which is more than the place deserves. They did refund the second night without arguing, so credit for that.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. Building work started at half past six every morning and nobody mentioned it when we booked. The lift was out of order the whole week and there is no sign of it being fixed. The room smelled strongly of damp and the window did not open to air it out. We were moved rooms on the Friday at an hour's notice with no explanation.
