Genuinely special
I ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about West Village.
Checkout is half past nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Comfortable beds, good coffee
Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into West Village late at night. Slept better than at home, which after four flights in a week is saying something.

Fine for a couple of nights
Went in with low expectations after the last place. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. You get more for the money here than at the two places we priced up in West Village. Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly.
Nobody was on the desk for about twenty minutes when we arrived on the Tuesday.

Stayed three nights, wanted five
Booked this on a whim and glad we did. A proper coffee machine in the room, not sachets of dust. The window in the bathroom looks straight onto a wall covered in jasmine.
We could not find anything to complain about.

Simple and clean
Would come back tomorrow. Bag storage on the last day was useful. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning. The Superior Twin Room suited me well for a short stay.
The furniture is dated and the corridors could do with a repaint.

Would look elsewhere next time
Fine, with caveats - somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them. The gym has what you need for a week away and is never busy.
One person on the desk at half past nine in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives. Breakfast is the same every day, which by the second morning we had noticed.
