Better than the street suggests
We nearly booked somewhere flashier and I am glad we did not - the bar pours a decent negroni and does not empty at nine. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin.
It is a good twenty minutes from the nearest tram stop, further than the listing suggests.

Not fit to be let
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
The Family Room had not been cleaned properly: hair in the shower tray and dust along every skirting board. The photographs show a refurbished room. Ours was not one of them, and the carpet was visibly worn through. Building work started at quarter past seven each morning and nobody had warned me at booking.

Charming and spotless
Turned up late, tired and grumpy, and were looked after. The bar pours a decent negroni and does not empty at nine. both boys were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow.

Passable, at a push
Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning. The restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect. Plaza de Armas is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far.
The air conditioning rattled on the third night; maintenance swapped a part the next morning. The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now.

Not quite worth it
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking.
The walk back from Qorikancha is all uphill, which I had not thought about.

Comfortable enough for three nights
Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about.
The kitchen closes at half past nine, which we found out the hard way on the Wednesday.
