Hotel Crown Sint-Gillis occupies a corner of Sint-Gillis that puts Markt and Belfry on one side and the market on the other. Practical details worth knowing: 24-hour front desk and airport shuttle on request. Not the cheapest bed in the area, but the one you will sleep best in.

Really rather good
Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Sint-Gillis late at night. Breakfast is worth getting up for: seasonal fruit, the coffee made to order and fruit that tasted of something. Twenty-four hour reception meant a two a.m. arrival was a non-event.
Only that everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

Worth every penny and then some
The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop. Breakfast is worth getting up for: seasonal fruit, the coffee made to order and fruit that tasted of something. In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need.
Nothing - we have already looked at dates for next year.

Complained twice, changed nothing
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower. The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. The bed linen was stained. We asked for it to be changed and waited until nearly eleven that night. Housekeeping did not come at all in two nights and we asked for towels twice.

Faultless from start to finish
We spent both evenings in the bar downstairs and never felt hurried out of it. We upgraded to the Family Room and would do it again without thinking.
Breakfast is charged separately and is not far off cafe prices in Sint-Gillis.

A stay of two halves
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Good spread at breakfast and they keep the coffee coming.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in July, when it is bright by seven. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Better than the price suggests
We booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what we thought of the price. our son were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow. The concierge booked the museum slots we had failed to get online. Breakfast is worth getting up for: fresh figs and yoghurt, the espresso made to order and fruit that tasted of something.
Checkout at eleven is early when you have an evening flight.
