This is the sort of Rome hotel you book twice: nothing showy, everything working. Recent guests singled out walk to the main sights, and we would agree. Breakfast runs late enough that you do not have to set an alarm for it.

Better on price than polish
The Family Room suited us well for a short stay. A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for.
One person on the desk at nine in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives. Checkout is ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

No complaints, no fireworks
Long weekend, first time in Testaccio. Breakfast is solid rather than lavish - a cheese and ham plate and reliable coffee. They let us sit in the courtyard with our own wine on the last night. Connection was good enough to work from for a morning.
Dust on the top of the wardrobe and behind the door, which we noticed on the first day. Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by eight.

Disappointing, sadly
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing. Testaccio is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far.
It needs a refurbishment rather than another coat of paint, and the price has not caught up with that. The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Would book again on price
Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced - the restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect.
Not much space to move around the bed once a case is open on the floor.

Pleasant but noisy at night
Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise.
Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine rather than the bar downstairs, which is a shame.

Lovely, if you don't mind stairs
Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed. The bar pours a decent negroni and does not empty at nine. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk.
