Quiet room, great coffee
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night. Proper shower pressure and hot water immediately, not after a minute of hoping. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

One night too many
Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise.
Getting a taxi to find the entrance took some explaining. The heating is on a timer and goes off at about half past ten, which in December you feel by morning.

Warm welcome in Coconut Grove
Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - we never heard the street once.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk.

Hard to recommend at this rate
The stairs creak in a way that is either charming or annoying depending on how tired you are. Marta at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
The carpet on the fifth floor is due for replacing.

I would ask for your money back
The morning coffee was fine, which is a thin thing to end on.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. Nobody was on the desk for long stretches, so we stood in the lobby with the suitcases for twenty minutes at check-in. The Superior Twin Room had not been cleaned properly: hair in the shower tray and dust along every skirting board. We were moved rooms on the Friday at an hour's notice with no explanation.

Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening. Bag storage on the last day was useful.
The bathroom fan runs for forty minutes after you leave and is loud.
