Perfect for a long weekend
Third time in Lisbon and the first time we have got the hotel right. I uploaded a large file from the room in minutes and nobody at the other end noticed I was away. I left a charger behind and it arrived at home nine days later, no charge for the postage.
Nothing at all, and we looked.

Wanted to like it more
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake - plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. The Superior Twin Room is well organised and everything has somewhere to go.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay. It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there.

Hard to recommend at this rate
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run.
The restaurant is fine but you would not choose it if you were not already staying there.

Beat our expectations
Two nights in and I was sleeping through until eight, which never happens for me. In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need. I uploaded a large file from the room in minutes and nobody at the other end noticed I was away.
Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine rather than the bar downstairs, which is a shame. The lift is slow enough that I walked down from the second floor most days.

Charming and spotless
Small breakfast, but everything on the table was good - warm bread and good jam and a pot of proper coffee. Someone has planted herbs in pots by the door and you are clearly meant to use them. For what I paid in August, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Would think twice
The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning. The Superior Twin Room suited me well for a short stay. Ola at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
The air conditioning rattled on the third night; maintenance swapped a part the next morning.
