Right for a short stay
the children were happy, which is most of the review. Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly.
Roadworks on the corner from eight on the Monday, and nobody had warned us.

Some good, some frustrating
The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week. A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing. Firm mattress, which is exactly how we like it.
Getting a taxi to find the entrance took some explaining.

Not terrible, not memorable
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. I left a charger behind and it arrived at home nine days later, no charge for the postage; clean and tidy throughout the stay.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Falls short of the description
Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast.
The kitchen closes at eleven, which I found out the hard way on the Thursday. Checkout at ten is early when you have an evening flight.

Not as described
At least there was plenty for our youngest to do.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer. Nobody told us the restaurant was closed for the week until we turned up hungry on the Thursday.

Lovely staff, lovely building
Straight to it: the location is the thing. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer. We were at Stradun in twenty-five minutes on foot, which changed how we used the days.
Wasps around the breakfast tables in May, which is hardly their fault. Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about half past seven.
