Passable, at a push
A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. Sint-Gillis is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. The shuttle runs on the hour and drops you right at the terminal. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
Traffic on the main road carries to the front rooms until well past midnight.

Nice staff, tired building
The desk is staffed at night, which mattered for our late arrival.
No lift, and it is five flights with a hard turn at the top. Worth knowing before you book. There is construction across the street that starts at seven, so bring earplugs.

Friendly and well run
Came for two nights, stayed four. In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need. Sint-Gillis has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged. For what I paid in December, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance.
Hot water was slow to arrive on the third floor first thing. It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the cases in the heat.

The shower at least was hot. There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which we discovered by accident on the first morning.
The heating did not work properly for the first three nights and the fix took until the first day. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

A find
We booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what we thought of the price. the children were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow.

Falls well short
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. The bed itself was comfortable enough.
The wall to the corridor carries every conversation, and there was one at ten on the Monday. The hot water failed on the first morning and was still off when we left.
