Practical, central and easy on the nerves - Hotel Imperial Bangsar is a base rather than a destination, and it knows it. Recent guests singled out family rooms available, and we would agree. Prices climb sharply in high season, so book early if the dates are fixed.

Quiet room, great coffee
Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Bangsar late at night. Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event; I am not usually breakfast people and I went down every morning.
Not a single thing, which almost never happens.

Would look elsewhere next time
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them.
The bathroom door catches on the bed frame, which tells you the size of the Family Room. The bathroom is clean but the fittings belong to a previous decade.

Would think twice
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. The desk is staffed at night, which mattered for our late arrival. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left. The Junior Suite suited us well for a short stay.
One person on the desk at nine in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.

Better than the street suggests
Easy to park right outside and no hunting around at midnight. Iron that heats up, a mirror you can knot a tie in, and enough sockets by the bed.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Great base for Kuala Lumpur
Not fancy, but that was never the point. Good toiletries in refillable bottles, and towels changed without being asked twice. Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - I never heard the street once. Twenty minutes to the conference centre, laundry back same day, invoice correct first time.
Breakfast is the same every day, which by the second morning I had noticed.

Not what the photos promised
The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions. Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone.
Roadworks on the corner from eight on the Sunday, and nobody had warned us.
