Adequate and well placed
Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it. Historic Centre is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. Reception were helpful when I needed a doctor's address, which I appreciated. Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere.
You cannot set the aircon below twenty-three, which in December is not quite enough. The keycards demagnetised twice and I had to go back down to the desk.

Better than the photographs
I ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Historic Centre. I booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what I thought of the price. Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - I never heard the street once. The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week.
No full-length mirror anywhere in the Family Room. One person on the desk at ten in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.

Good bones, tired edges
Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so I got around easily. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning.
Checkout at nine is early when you have an evening flight.

Small place, big heart
Would come back tomorrow. Andrei on reception had us checked in inside three minutes and drew a map of the area on the spot. For Bruges, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms.
That we booked only four nights.

Does the job
Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside.
No screens on the windows, so it is a choice between the heat and the mosquitoes.

No surprises, good or bad
The Junior Suite suited me well for a short stay. Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about. Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Bruges rather than the hotel.
