Ask for a room at the back
Underfloor heating in the bathroom in November is a small luxury that I noticed every morning. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with my bags in the heat. Breakfast is charged separately and is not far off cafe prices in Valletta.

Very good, minor niggles
Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked. Washer and a drying rack, so we travelled home with a clean bag.
Street parking is free after nine and impossible before it.

Underwhelmed but not unhappy
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin. Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry.
Nobody was on the desk for about fifteen minutes when we arrived on the Wednesday. The heating is on a timer and goes off at about half past nine, which in November you feel by morning.

Half worked, half didn't
The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. Easy place to stay on your own, and the area is fine to walk at night.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in October, when it is bright by seven.

Not quite worth it
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. Bag storage on the last day was useful. Firm mattress, which is exactly how we like it; quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light. Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

Restful and central
Parking on site and free, which in Valletta saved me more than the room rate difference.
Mosquitoes in the evening once the doors are open - the shop on the corner sells the plug-ins.
