Good location, average room
Would come back tomorrow. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
The furniture is dated and the corridors could do with a repaint. Street parking is free after nine and impossible before it.

Average stay in a good spot
Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone. The restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

Happy we booked it
They cook eggs how you ask and the bread comes from the bakery opposite, still warm. The bed was the surprise: firm, wide and made up with linen that actually felt like linen. Proper shower pressure and hot water immediately, not after a minute of hoping. The Junior Suite is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Queenstown rather than the hotel.

Simple and clean
Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Queenstown Central is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far.
Thin walls, so we knew a fair amount about our neighbours and their travel plans. No air conditioning, and June in Queenstown is warm - the fan only does so much.

Falls short of the description
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs. Location is the strong point - seven minutes to Skyline Gondola and a metro stop close by.
One radiator for the whole room, and in March that is not quite enough. two floors and no lift - the Superior Twin Room is lovely once you get up there with the suitcases.
