  Ticked every box that mattered

  the little one were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow. Small gym but everything works, and it is open at six when I need it.

  Sound choice near Beitou Hot Springs

  The Junior Suite suited us well for a short stay. Room was warm enough in December, which was the main worry. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it.

  No full-length mirror anywhere in the Junior Suite. The wall to the corridor carries every conversation, and there was one at ten on the Thursday.

  Perfect for a long weekend

  Room service arrived in fifteen minutes at half past ten, which is why I book here.

  Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait. It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the cases in the heat.

  Better in the photos

  Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so we got around easily. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.

  The aircon unit drips onto the balcony floor, which we mentioned on the Wednesday.

  Everything we hoped for

  We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway. Shuttle runs often enough that we never checked the timetable twice.

  Quiet and central, kind staff

  Lift straight from the street to the floor, so my rucksack were never a problem. They kept the suitcases until the evening flight and even brought them down to the taxi. I left a charger behind and it arrived at home nine days later, no charge for the postage. Slept better than at home, which after four flights in a week is saying something.

  Checkout at nine is early when you have an evening flight.
