5.7Needs a proper refurbishment
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. The room was at least clean when we arrived - the shuttle runs on the hour and drops you right at the terminal.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer.

7.0Underwhelmed but not unhappy
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it. No air conditioning, and September in Istanbul is warm - the fan only does so much.

9.1Small room, great location
Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked.
No screens on the windows, so it is a choice between the heat and the mosquitoes.

6.1Several things went wrong
Karaköy is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far.
Dust on the top of the wardrobe and behind the door, which we noticed on the last day. The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower.

6.7Not what the photos promised
The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
Wifi does not reach the terrace, which is where you actually want to sit. Checkout is nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.
