6.8Hard to recommend at this rate
The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Parking is available and reasonably priced for the area. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left.
The bathroom is clean but the fittings belong to a previous decade.

9.8The one to book in Alfama
Booked this on a whim and glad I did. I booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what I thought of the price. Iron that heats up, a mirror you can knot a tie in, and enough sockets by the bed.
We had to be out by eleven on the last day, and that is genuinely the worst of it.

8.5Better than the price suggests
For what I paid in December, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run. The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the suitcases in the heat.

5.1Nice staff, tired building
Bag storage on the last day was useful. The desk is staffed at night, which mattered for our late arrival.
There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Tuesday night. The aircon unit drips onto the balcony floor, which we mentioned on the Monday.

9.4Quiet and central, kind staff
The kids club actually did things rather than parking them in front of a screen, so we got two mornings to ourselves. Walking back from Praça do Comércio after dinner took twelve minutes and never once felt like a trek. Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event.
It is a good ten minutes from the nearest tram stop, further than the listing suggests.
