Friendly and well run
Right, so. They cook eggs how you ask and the bread comes from the bakery opposite, still warm. Records in the room, a proper armchair and the espresso that would hold up in any city.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.

Good location, mixed stay
Grandi is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. Charming small hotel, and the fabrics lifts it above the usual.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed. The kind of place you book for two nights and immediately regret not booking for four.

Lovely, if you don't mind stairs
Came for two nights, stayed four. The Signature Room is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Reykjavík rather than the hotel.

Quiet room, great coffee
Someone has planted herbs in pots by the door and you are clearly meant to use them. Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be.
Only the weather, which is hardly their doing.

Spoiled us completely
In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the cases in the heat.
