Ten out of ten for Kitsilano
For Vancouver, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. the little one were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow. Coffee on the balcony before breakfast, watching Kitsilano wake up. Worth the upgrade.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

Disappointing, sadly
The bed itself was comfortable enough.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay. The bathroom fan runs for fifteen minutes after you leave and is loud.

Cancelled the rest of our stay
Honestly, very little. We were out from early until late to avoid being in the Sea View Room.
Breakfast was advertised and included, then turned out to be cereal and instant coffee. There was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom that we reported twice and nothing was done. It needs a refurbishment rather than another coat of paint, and the price has not caught up with that.

Happy we booked it
We nearly booked somewhere flashier and I am glad we did not. our two were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not.

Genuinely lovely stay
The view from the balcony is not a marketing photograph - it is genuinely that. Sanne sorted a late checkout on the last day without us even having to push for it.

Quiet room, great coffee
Sauna hot enough to be worth the walk out in October. The radiator clanked at about two in the morning and then settled down, and honestly we grew fond of it.
Checkout at eleven is early when you have an evening flight.
