Booked late and got lucky. Nadia sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation.
There is one toaster for the whole room, so there is a queue at eleven.

9.3Slept like a stone
The kind of place you book for two nights and immediately regret not booking for four. Al Wakrah has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven.

Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. The location is genuinely good, which is most of why we stuck it out.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

9.4Exactly right
One of very few places in Al Wakrah that takes dogs without a surcharge the size of a night's stay. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Al Wakrah late at night. I was at Katara Cultural Village in eight minutes on foot, which changed how I used the days.
Nothing worth writing here.

The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot; the Family Suite suited us well for a short stay.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk.

9.0Small room, great location
We upgraded to the Double Room with Garden View and would do it again without thinking. Andrei sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after eleven.
