Records in the room, a proper armchair and the coffee that would hold up in any city. A real desk with a real chair and a socket at elbow height - somebody has actually worked in a hotel room before.
Nothing that belongs in this box.

10.0Perfect for a long weekend
Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur.
Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine rather than the bar downstairs, which is a shame.

8.5Good value for Maadi
Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Maadi late at night. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer.
Checkout at half past ten is early when you have an evening flight.

3.3Paid for a hotel, got a building site
Honestly, very little. We were out from early until late to avoid being in the Cosy Room.
The bed linen was stained. We asked for it to be changed and waited until nearly half past nine that night. The lift was out of order the whole week and there is no sign of it being fixed. Nobody was on the desk for long stretches, so we stood in the lobby with my rucksack for twenty minutes at check-in. The room we were given was not the one we booked and it took two conversations to be moved.

Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm. The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.
