Slept like a stone
Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven. The courtyard rooms hear nothing but pigeons, which is the whole point.

Solid choice, would return
The kind of place you book for two nights and immediately regret not booking for four.
Nobody was on the desk for about ten minutes when we arrived on the Tuesday. Blackout blinds would make a difference in October, when it is bright by seven.

A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them.
The aircon unit drips onto the balcony floor, which I mentioned on the Monday. Towels are changed only on request, which is sensible but was not explained.

Charming small hotel, and the old terrazzo floor lifts it above the usual.
Breakfast is the same every day, which by the third morning we had noticed.

Could not have gone better
Long weekend, first time in Canal Ring. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in January is a small luxury that we noticed every morning. Room service arrived in fifteen minutes at half past ten, which is why I book here.

Falls well short
The shower at least was hot. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it.
One radiator for the whole room, and in December that is not quite enough. Street noise at the front until the bars close - ask for a room over the courtyard.
