A stay of two halves
Good spread at breakfast and they keep the coffee coming. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast.
The shower door leaks a little onto the bathroom floor.

Great few days in Kitsilano
Someone has planted herbs in pots by the door and you are clearly meant to use them. Small breakfast, but everything on the table was good - warm bread and good jam and a pot of proper coffee. I upgraded to the Terrace Room and would do it again without thinking.
Checkout at half past ten is early when you have an evening flight.

Some good, some frustrating
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Bikes to borrow, which I used on both mornings. Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now. The keycards demagnetised twice and I had to go back down to the desk.

Underwhelmed but not unhappy
Wanted to like it more than we did. The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions. The neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.

Does what it says
The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions. Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about. Charming small hotel, and the fabrics lifts it above the usual.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after half past ten.

The shower at least was hot.
The staircase is narrow and steep, so allow a minute or two more than you think. Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.
